Simpler Times

                      Simpler Times

Where have these harbingers of simpler times… of days long, and nights sweet… where have they… gone.  Those, lazy afternoons, spent playing in the sun… the soft breezes, and cool shade… from clouds above… Where have they… gone?

Where has gone, the love of God… and the innocents of our youth?  Too, whom have we wondered… so, far from the truth. Too, labors many, in fields of woe… too, wrestle with one another… why, I surely don’t know?

We turn around and time is gone… Turn again, and summer breezes vanish… giving way… to autumns harvest, and soon winters call… to cold nights, all.

Let us then enjoy the day, and keep God in our hearts along the, way… For man’s season, in time… is but sorrow left behind… When, he in God does… rest.
